A propósito desta fotografia, tirada no lançamento do meu livro “Mar Calmo Nunca Fez Bom Marinheiro”, eu estou junto a Sua Excelência o Presidente da Câmara Municipal de Cascais, Dr. Carlos Carreiras, que dirige a edilidade desde 2011, tendo vencido três actos eleitorais com maioria absoluta e algumas das votações mais expressivas de sempre no concelho cascalense.
Há a realçar que o Senhor Dr. Carlos Carreiras foi também Vice-Presidente do Partido Social Democrata (2014/2016) e Presidente do Instituto Francisco Sá Carneiro (2010/2013) ao qual eu próprio pertenci, enquanto monitor político, numa outra vida, até que, por razões que agora não importam para nada, fui "convidado” a sair do Partido Social Democrata, pelo seu então presidente, Prof. Doutor Aníbal Cavaco Silva... esse "grande democrata"!
Um dia hei-de escrever as minhas “mémoires”... muito provavelmente serei capaz de conseguir vender uns três ou quatro exemplares, oferecer outros tantos e aqueles que me sobrarem hão de servir de calços para os armários!

Looking at this photograph that was taken at the presentation of my book “A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor,” in which I am with His Excellency the Mayor of Cascais, Mr. Carlos Carreiras, who has been running the city council since 2011, having won three elections with an absolute majority and some of the most expressive votes ever in the municipality of Cascais.
It should be noted that Mr. Carlos Carreiras was Vice-President of the Social Democratic Party (2014/2016) and also President of the Francisco Sá Carneiro Institute (2010/2013), to which I was a member, as a pollical advisor, in this other life of mine, until, for reasons that now do not matter, I was “invited” to leave the Social Democratic Party, by its then President, Dr. Aníbal Cavaco Silva (Ph.D.)... what a “great democrat” he was!
One of these days, I shall write my “mémoires”... I will most likely be able to sell three or four copies and offer as many others, and those left will serve as wedges for closets or tables!
